I'm the one taking all these bad pictures. In an effort to take more and hopefully progressively better pictures, I'm going to take (at least) one picture a day and post it here. Maybe I'll add a way for people to comment on them, but for now their just here for your enjoyment. Maybe you'll laugh at them, or find them enjoyable, if you really want me to hear about your feelings on a picture I took, send me an email (andyATmantrout.com) and I'll be happy to read it, and most likely you'll get a reply. Just what you've always wanted. Here is everything you didn't want to know about me:
Name: Andy Troutman
Marital Status? Married. Quite amazingly, to a quite amazing girl.
Children? I love kids, but I don't think I could eat a whole one.
Educated?BS Computer engineering University of Maryland College Park, finishing up thesis for my Masters in Computer Science from Florida Institute of Technology
Professional Interests? Computer Science in general, but more specifically Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Mining.
Recreational Interests? Photography, Travel, Disc Golf, Gaming (both board and computer), Web Design
Can you read? Make: magazine, a lot of web pages, and when I read books I'm all over the map, but particularly fond of Kurt Vonnegut, Bill Bryson, and Terry Pratchett.
Movies? Total movie snob. I get rained with hate for my beliefs!
Music? Pretty much anything with roots in rock and roll, from Tool (probably my favorite band) to Led Zeppelin to NOFX to The Decemberists. And anything in between.
Politics and Religion? Were all friends here, lets not go down that road.
Character Type? I prefer thieves but... oh. not that character type... I'm your classic introvert. I don't like busy social settings, would prefer a night in with a couple friends. That being said, I'm not a spineless fish, I have no problem expressing my opinions, or speaking in crowds. In fact I probably have too easy a time with it, as sometimes people take offense, but then that just seems a part of the human condition. If you aren't pushing someone's buttons, you're probably a boring person. That should be more than enough for you to know "who I am".
